World renowned Hi-Fi and home cinema equipment manufacturers, Arcam, have in the past week unveiled their new Muso loudspeaker. Part of the company’s popular Solo Music & Movie Range, the Muso is a super-compact two-way ported speaker with a cabinet measuring just 27cm by 15cm by 17cm.
By far the smallest product within Arcam’s Solo range, the company claim that the Muso utilises the same audiophile sound quality and unobtrusive but stylish aesthetic as their other lines. According to Arcam, the signature qualities of the new loudspeaker are ease of placement and effortless high quality sound.
Supplied in pairs, the Muso Loudspeakers weigh just a touch over 3kg and yet manage to pack in impressive technical specifications. Each one, for instance, features a die cast drive unit chassis made from thinner supporting materials allow sound to pass from the back of the speaker cone to the inside of the cabinet more easily.
What’s more, the aforementioned speaker cone is made from a proprietary paper-pulp and fibre combination in order to be optimally light yet stiff. The Muso tweeter, meanwhile, is a pure aluminium dome through which sound passes both backwards and forwards.
Available with matching floor stands or wall brackets, the Muso’s front facing port makes it impressively effective when placed close to a wall. That port, too, is bent internally and is custom moulded with thick side walls to support itself with minimal vibration even when the speaker is playing at loud volumes.
