Axis Communications, market leading manufacturers of network security and surveillance solutions, have announced the introduction of two thermal cameras to their P-Line of network cameras. Named the P-1280-E Thermal Network Camera and the P-1290 Thermal Network Camera the new pair of security solutions are the P-Line’s first such cameras.
Both the P-1280-E and the P-1290 have been designed, according to Axis, in order to protect the privacy of those captured in video images whilst still managing to deliver reliable detection and a lower rate of false alarms.
Each of the two new cameras are able to detect incidents without revealing personal details of those captured in image but that is far from their only feature. On top of that, the cameras are also able to be installed in order to trigger alarms or alerts, which could be invaluable on a residential care setting to respond to falls or accidents. What’s more, the thermal cameras also boast built-in analytics, such as AXIS Video Motion Detection, which sends alerts when motion from moving objects is detected within a predefined area.
The P-1280-E is suitable for indoor or outdoor use and the P-1290 for indoor installation, and according to Axis global product manager Martina Lundh both cameras are ideal for a range of environments:
‘In environments where the privacy of individuals is paramount – for example schools and care homes – thermal imaging detects incidents without revealing personal details of the people in the image.’
