Control 4, a world leading manufacturer of smart home and automation solutions, have in the past week announced a new integration partnership with Roxy; the creator of an increasingly popular speech-enabled device built for hotels.
The new integration partnership between Control 4 and Roxy means that the Roxy speech-enabled device, which has already replaced the telephone in many thousands of hotel rooms, can now be seamlessly integrated into Control 4 smart hotel systems.
That in turn means that the Roxy device, in concert with a Control 4 system, lets a hotel guest use their voice to adjust room controls including lights, blinds and the thermostat.
The integration partnership announcement comes shortly after Roxy’s release of full phone functionality, which allows the device to replace the phone in hotel rooms in addition to the speaker, alarm clock, charging ports and the guest booklet.
Speaking in light of the announcement, Control 4’s vice president of business development, Noel Gouff, explained what the integration offers to hotel guests:
‘Automation enhances the guestroom by creating a more comfortable and convenient experience with lighting, entertainment, or other device control…Integrating the Control4 Hospitality Solution with Roxy will allow hotels to enhance their offering and guest experience by providing guests with an intuitive interface for interacting with their room.’
The integration, too, can provide a very tangible benefit to hotels beyond the enhanced customer satisfaction. When guests check out with an integrated Roxy device, the room’s Control 4 system can be set to shut the blinds, turn off the AC or heat and turn off the lights. That ensures that energy will not be wasted and can have a noticeable effect on the hotel’s bills.
