Crestron Electronics, a world leading manufacturer of home automation and smart control solutions, have in the past few days announced a new partnership with 2N; a company which holds the distinction of being the world’s largest IP intercom provider.
The new partnership between the market leading firms means that 2N is now an official Crestron integration partner and that their 2N video intercom door stations will now be Crestron Rava SIP intercom and phone technology compliant.
Following a now available firmware update, therefore, 2N door stations can integrate intuitively with Crestron TSW-x60 Series touch screens to provide a premium video intercom solution that also seamlessly integrates with third-party electronic door locks.
Speaking about the company’s new partnership, Crestron’s global residential marketing manager, Michael Short, explained the motivation behind the collaboration:
‘People want to feel safe and secure in their homes. Crestron and 2N have partnered to help make that a reality. Even better, integration is incredibly simple.’
Simple is indeed the word for integration. For Crestron touch screens deployed with the Crestron Pyng OS 2 operating system, the latest 2N firmware update will instantly recognise 2N video intercom door stations, so they can be deployed without the need for complex programming.
As and when a combined Crestron and 2N door entry system is employed, a home owner will enjoy a range of features. Those include Quick Actions to unlock third-party electronic door locks, turn on porch lights, open gates or other similar actions and video monitoring on up to 16 touch screens in the home.
