In one of a number of interesting recent announcements, world leading home automation and smart control solution manufacturers, Crestron, have announced the upcoming release of a new Crestron Pyng Platform. The impressively update software platform for Crestron home automation systems is slated as ‘a quantum leap forward’ from the current iteration of Crestron Pyng.
That’s because the new platform makes it simple to configure and control the full Crestron smart home experience, including lighting, shades, audio, security systems and thermostats. What’s more, the new platform is also optimised for to support the integration of video control and all the benefits of Crestron DigitalMedia.
The new Crestron Pyng update is currently on display at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2018 tech show in Amsterdam and boasts a number of key features. They include support for display and source control, room and source selection, volume control for groups and other rooms, video routing via DM® and DM NVX Series, audio and video grouping, user profiles, and TV pre-sets.
Despite those new capabilities, however, there is no learning curve involved for homeowners with Crestron home automation systems as configuration and control follow the same familiar procedure as before. It’s for all of those reasons, therefore, that’s Crestron’s global residential marketing manager, Michael Short is so positive on the benefits of the new platform:
‘The addition of video and DM support elevates the power of Crestron Pyng to an entirely new level for homeowners and Crestron integrators, alike, making it possible to modify scenes, schedules, TV presets, and much more.’
