Crestron, a world leading innovator and manufacturer of enterprise control and home automation solutions, have recently debuted what they describe as their ‘next generation’ FlipTops. Introduced at the recent Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2018 tech show, the new FlipTops are described by the company as sleek in-table connectivity solutions.
Boasting a so-called dashboard forward design, the new FlipTops are easy to install into any meeting room table or lectern, and allow for easier access to cables and connectors. What’s more, those cables and connections are concealed in stunning new industrial designs, blending machined metal textures in both black and alloy finishes.
That means that when no AV or electronic assistance is required for a meeting, the connections are kept under wraps but when such help is needed, they can be revealed with just the press of a button. When that button is pressed, the FlipTop’s door opens and tucks away to reveal all of the solution’s connectors.
Crestron’s new FlipTops come in two diverse models, known as the FT2-700-MECH and the FT2-700-ELEC. The former of those is an unpowered mechanical FlipTop that includes 12 plates – 4 blank and 8 pass-through plates – and which accommodates multiple AC power modules. The latter, meanwhile, includes everything that the MECH version provides, plus a power bus and 24V DC power supply that provides power to each of 12 module spaces.
