As one of a number of new solutions demonstrated at the recent Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2018 tech show, world leading smart control and home automation company Crestron unveiled their new Horizon Keypads. Described as delivering an advanced custom control solution as part of a complete Crestron smart home, the new keypads include a number of notable features.
The Horizon line of smart control keypads are available in highly configurable single-gang models that combine up to four across with a choice of the following four button styles; single, side-to-side rocker, small up-down rocker, and large up-down rocker. Trim pieces at the top and bottom are also interchangeable to suit any décor and provide the ultimate in style and elegance.
For added utility in differing lighting conditions, every model in the Horizon line includes multi-colour backlighting that illuminates the high-quality laser engraved text on the buttons. Buttons which are pressed glow two to three times more brightly than those which are inactive and individual buttons can be programmed to illuminate in different colours.
As well as those stylish, aesthetic features, the Horizon Keypads are also supported by Crestron’s popular Cresnet bus. The Cresnet bus is the communications backbone for many Crestron lighting controllers, shade motors, sensors and other devices, and is a simple, yet flexible 4-wire network that provides bidirectional communication and 24VDC power for Cresnet devices.
Speaking about the new keypads, Crestron’s residential marketing manager Michael Short explained their appeal:
‘These stunningly beautiful keypads provide Crestron residential dealers, as well as interior designers and architects, with incredible flexibility in both control and design…Inviting to the touch and appealing to the eye, Horizon keypads deliver a premier user experience combined with bespoke design for homeowners.’
