Extron Introduces New 4K/60 HDMI Distribution Amplifiers

Extron, a world leading manufacturer and provider of smart control and audio visual solutions, have announced the introduction of a new line of HDMI distribution amplifiers. Named the DA HD 4K PLUS Series, the new amplifiers are described as being for signals up to 4K/60 @ 4:4:4 chroma sampling.

HDCP 2.2 compliant, the DA HD 4K PLUS Series support data rates up to 18 Gbps, HDR, Deep Colour up to 12-bit, 3D, and HD lossless audio formats. In order to make it easier to integrate the new amplifiers into existing audio visual systems, each also include features such as automatic input cable equalisation, automatic colour bit depth management, and selectable output muting via RS-232.

In order to suit a range of different installations, the DA HD 4K PLUS Series amplifiers are available in two, four, and six output sizes, and are ideal for applications that require the distribution of a 4K/60 HDMI source signal to multiple displays.

Front panel indicators are included to provide easy monitoring and troubleshooting, whilst Extron EDID Minder and Key Minder technologies are also featured to maintain continuous EDID communication between connected devices, ensuring simultaneous distribution of HDCP-encrypted source content.

Casey Hall, the vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Extron, explained how all of those features and more mean that the DA HD 4K PLUS Series amplifiers can deliver the highest level of performance:

‘We are excited that the next generation of Extron HDMI distribution amplifiers are now available to address the ever increasing need for 4K video distribution…Supporting HDMI data rates up to 18 Gbps, the DA HD 4K PLUS Series offers the performance required to distribute 4K/60 signals at 4:4:4 chroma sampling, ensuring the highest performance for the most demanding applications.’
