Extron Electronics, a globally renowned producer of audio visual solutions, have in the past week announced the introduction of a new compact two-channel Dante Audio Interface. Named the AXI 02 AT, the new compact audio interface is described by the company as having been designed to extract two channels from a Dante audio network.
Taking up only an eighth of the width of an AV rack, the brand new AXI 02 AT compact audio interface is able to provide two channels of output to devices without Dante connectivity. It also features two line level analog outputs and a mirrored two-channel S/PDIF output for added functionality.
Powered through PoE, the new AXI 02 AT can interface with any Dante-equipped audio device, such as an Extron DMP 128 Plus C AT, over a standard local area network. That enables audio system scalability over such a local area network using standard internet protocols, and the interface is also compatible with Extron Rack Shelves and ZipClip mounting solutions.
All of that, therefore, means that the new Dante Audio Interface could be ideal for a range of different AV installations. At least according to Extron’s vice president of world wide sales and marketing, Casey Hall:
‘Dante is the preferred audio networking solution deployed by AV integrators across all professional AV environments…The AXI 02 AT provides a compact, cost-effective solution for taking two channels from the Dante network and providing the signal to local devices.’
