Extron Electronics, world renowned producers of top quality audio visual devices and solutions, have in the past week announced the introduction of their new DTP2 Series of products. Described by the company as ‘the next generation of Extron DTP Technology’, the DTP2 Series is a family of twisted pair extenders with advanced performance and innovative features.
The DTP2 Series accommodates the full 18 Gbps data rate of HDMI 2.0b and supports video signals at resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 chroma sampling. Also able to be used for distribution of 4K HDR, the full DTP2 Series range of solutions are HDCP 2.2 compliant, and include the DTP2 T 211 transmitter, DTP2 R 211 receiver, and the DTP2 T 212 switcher with integrated DTP2 transmitter, plus an independently assignable local HDMI output.
Designed for distribution of HDMI and audio, the DTP2 Series can also cater for bidirectional RS‑232 and IR signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable. The new line’s compact enclosure sizes and remote power capability, meanwhile, make the DTP2 Series just right for discreet placement in lecterns, beneath tables, behind flat panel displays, or wherever needed to meet application requirements.
Speaking about the introduction of the new line of products, Extron’s vice president of sales and marketing Casey Hall explained the advancement that the DTP2 Series represents:
