Extron Electronics, a leading company in the field of audio visual solutions, have recently announced a new firmware update which introduces new functionality to their range of DMP 128 Plus Digital Matrix Processors.
The free firmware version 1.02 update allows the company’s four DMP 128 Plus C model digital matrix processors to support up to 12 independent channels of high performance AEC, up from 8 channels, with no hardware changes.
Following the update, Extron’s three DMP 128 Plus AT models now also support Dante Domain Manager (DDM), network management software, from Audinate. That DDM software enables user authentication, role-based security, and seamless expansion of Dante systems over any network infrastructure.
Compatibility with the VoIP MS cloud-based VoIP system is also added to the company’s DMP 128 Plus V model processors via the update, reflecting Extron’s commitment to the widest possible VoIP compatibility.
Finally, the ability to convert project files between DMP 128 Plus types has also been added with Extron’s firmware update and DSP Configurator Software version 2.20.
Speaking about the new update, Extron’s vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, Casey Hall, explained what the new firmware provides to end users:
‘We are excited to announce this free firmware update for our DMP 128 Plus models that adds value, flexibility, and functionality at no cost to the user…The addition of four more channels of AEC, for a total of twelve, provides the tangible benefit of Extron acoustic echo cancellation in more conference room designs.’
