Extron Electronics, a globally renowned producer of audio visual solutions, have recently announced that they are now shipping a new compact modular 4K videowall processor. Named the Extron Quantum Ultra 305, the new processor is a 3U, 5-slot card frame which supports any combination of the company’s Quantum Ultra input and output cards.
In spite of its more compact nature, the Quantum Ultra 305 still boasts a high-speed video bus with the same Extron HyperLane technology and real-time performance as the company’s existing 6U, 10-slot Quantum Ultra 610.
According to Extron’s shipping announcement, the new videowall processor features a single card frame which can support multiple output resolutions and screen orientations for simple, flexible system design. RS-232 and Ethernet interfaces, what’s more, allow multiple direct connections for control systems.
Speaking about the launch of the new Quantum Ultra 305, Extron’s vice president of global sales and marketing, Casey Hall, explained the benefits and potential applications of the new videowall processor:
‘We’re enthusiastic about being able to deliver this new smaller Quantum Ultra videowall processor without sacrificing performance or capabilities…With Extron HyperLane technology, powerful processing features, and robust, secure operation, the Quantum Ultra 305 is a powerful yet cost-effective, space-saving solution for small to medium size videowalls.’
