Extron Electronics, world renowned specialists in audio visual solutions, have in the past few days announced that they are now shipping their new XPA Ultra line of power amplifiers.
According to the company’s shipping announcement, the new amplifiers represent an engineering breakthrough that provides the ability to put more amplifier channels in a smaller space, with less radiated heat than ever before.
That capability is provided by the fact that the new XPA Ultra Amplifiers all run cooler than any other similar Class D amps, thus extending component life and eliminating the need for ventilation rack space.
Amongst the additional features of the new line of amplifiers are an improved ultra-fast wakeup, an Everlast power supply, professional grade signal-to-noise ratio, ultra-low inrush current, and Extron’s patented CDRS – Class D Ripple Suppression.
The full line-up of Extron XPA Ultra Amplifiers include single and side by side rack mount hardware and a newly designed rear panel that makes installing the optional Flexible Conduit Adapter Kit easier than ever.
It’s little surprise, therefore, that Extron’s vice president of global sales and marketing, Casey Hall, was ebullient about the potential benefits offered by the new product line:
‘Extron pioneered the use of Class D amplifiers in AV applications and our engineers have continuously been developing unique, patented, high performance power amplifier technologies…An advanced thermal engineering design provides very high channel density that allows system designers to provide 16 channels of audio amplification in a single rack space.’
