Lutron Electronics, a world leading innovator and manufacturer in the fields of smart home control and automation, have today announce a new collaboration with tech giants Google. That new collaboration allows homeowners to easily control their Lutron Serena, Triathlon, Sivoia QS, and Palladiom shading systems using the Google Assistant.
What that means in essence is that users of the above Lutron shading systems and solutions are now going to be able to control those systems with their voice, either directly or remotely via the Lutron App.
A number of Lutron smart home systems, including Caséta Wireless, RA2 Select, RadioRA 2 and HomeWorks QS lighting control systems, already work with Google Assistant but now Lutron’s wide range of shading solutions have been brought into the fold.
Executive vice president at Lutron, Ed Blair, explained how the new collaboration will benefit owners of Lutron smart homes:
‘Lutron customers appreciate the simplicity and convenience of using your voice to control lights. Expanding that level of convenience to Lutron shading systems elevates the smart home experience for our customers…This latest integration with the Google Assistant reinforces Lutron’s leadership in the connected home space and allows customers to extend smart home capabilities to new heights.’
The new collaboration lets users control Lutron shades throughout their home and even ask the Google Assistant to open or close one specific shade. If they’re unsure if a shade is open or not, homeowners can now also ask the Google Assistant to let them know in real time, rather than having to go and check themselves.
