In the past few days world famous home automation manufacturers Lutron and whole home audio specialists Lenbrook International have announced that they are teaming up in a new and innovative collaboration. The fruits of the new partnership will first be displayed at the upcoming Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2018 tech show.
The new collaboration will involve Lutron mixing their smart lighting solutions with Lenbrook’s BluOS hi-res music service to create a smoother, more intelligent listening experience. The integration will allow Lutron users to change the lighting within their home to better suit the music they are listening to, through the Lutron Pico Remote Control.
What’s more, they will now also be able to play, pause, skip tracks, adjust volume and even toggle through BluOS pre-sets, using the same controller. That’s because through the new partnership between the companies, when a BluOS speaker system is connected to a Lutron Controller, a smart home device that uses Lutron’s propriety ClearConnect wireless technology is able to access playback commands.
The new features enabled by the integration are expected to be available to customers with Lutron and Lenbrook devices later this month, once they have upgraded to the latest version of BluOS and downloaded a BluOS CI setup utility. Unsurprisingly, Lenbrook’s BluOS product manager Andrew Haines was high on the new partnership:
‘Now with support for Lutron’s most popular lighting control systems, streaming services and personal music collections can be connected to a home network and seamlessly be controlled together with your light. It’s two state-of-the-art smart home systems, working seamlessly together.’
