Renowned, market leading home automation and smart control specialists Lutron used the recent CEDIA 2017 trade show to unveil a whole host of new lighting, shading and temperature control solutions. Amongst those newly debuted solutions were RA2 Select wireless control, HomeWorks QS Palladiom thermostat and shading system, HomeWorks DIN rail modules, and lower-cost Finiré Prime LED lighting fixtures.
RA2 Select wireless control is described by Lutron as a new, simpler, differentiated lighting, shading and home control system providing smart home capabilities and controls for users while providing easy setup, installation and scalability for integrators. The system consists of an RA2 main repeater and up to four wireless repeaters, and represents a kind of middle ground solution between Lutron’s Caseta and Radio RA2 systems.
The company’s HomeWorks QS Palladiom system, meanwhile, was described and eulogised about by Lutron director of residential business development Rich Black:
‘It is an entirely new shading system with a new drive, bracket, wire management and installation system…A lot of the magic in the system is what you can’t see in terms of engineering to do things like be able to drive the fabric all the way out to the edge of the roller to minimize [sic] the light gap.’
A new Palladiom thermostat was also debuted by Lutron at CEDIA and is designed to work with the shading system, as well as to add temperature control to Lutron systems.
Lutron’s new DIN rail modules and Finiré Prime LED lighting fixtures, finally, introduce greater flexibility to Lutron controlled smart homes and a greater range of options when it comes to lighting them.
