Paradigm, a world leading speaker designer and manufacturer, have announced the release of their brand new Defiance line of subwoofers. Comprising six new subwoofer models, the Defiance line is split into two series named the Defiance X and the Defiance V Series.
According to Paradigm’s announcement of their new subwoofers, the six models stretch from entry level to ultimate performance and all ‘deliver pure power, unleashed by clean, efficient amplification’.
The Defiance X Series is made up of three different models of subwoofer, known as the X10, X12 and X15. Each provides massive output according to Paradigm, thanks largely to their heavy-duty, internally-braced cabinets, and Active Ridge Technology (ART™) for maximum driver-excursion.
The numbers which form the major part of the new subwoofers’ names refer to the size in inches of their drivers, whilst each model also boasts Paradigm patented ART surround and Anthem Room Correction. All X Series subwoofers, too, can be controlled via Paradigm’s Subwoofer Control App.
The V Series represents the value end of Paradigm’s new Defiance line and is composed of the V12, V10 and V8. Each of the three models has a smaller footprint than the X Series alternatives and feature a 12”, 10” and 8” driver respectively. The V12 and V10 still offer Anthem Room Correction and can both be controlled via the Paradigm Subwoofer Control App.
Speaking after the announcement of the company’s new Defiance line, Paradigm’s director of sale’s, Keith Dowd, explained how they had poured their expertise into the new subwoofers:
‘It’s easy to design a subwoofer that makes a lot of noise, but a subwoofer with vanishingly low distortion that sounds as good as a high performance speaker can only come from a company that knows how to design and build high performance speakers.’
