Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), a market leading home automation and smart control manufacturer, have in the past few days announced that they are now shipping the second generation of their popular XP-6 advanced control processor. Named the XP-6s, the new control processor offers increased processing power, expanded memory, and a rack-mountable design.
Described by RTI as being perfect for complex projects such as smart homes, corporate environments, and sports bars, the newly available XP-6s features the advanced control options of its predecessor while offering a faster i.MX53 CPU for increased processing power.
What’s more, processing power is enhanced further by the addition of eight times more RAM memory and four times more internal non-volatile Flash memory, bringing both up to an extremely impressive 512MB.
In order to meet the needs of and best suit a range of different potential uses and installation environments, the new control processor also offers comprehensive control and automation options. Those include two-way RS 232, routable IR, and Ethernet, as well as three programmable relays, three voltage trigger outputs, and three voltage sense inputs.
Speaking about the new second generation processor, RTI’s vice president of global sales, Mike Everett, explained the company’s decision to upgrade the popular XP-6:
‘After thousands of installations, the XP-6 has earned its reputation as the bulletproof, workhorse processor that you can use in any project, and it just works…With the ever-expanding list of smart devices and integration options, it was time to give our popular processor the additional horsepower it needs to continue this legacy well into the future. We couldn’t be more excited to offer our dealers the next-generation XP-6s.’
