It has been announced this week that Savant, a world leading manufacturer of smart home automation solutions, has become the latest company to join the so-called SDVoE Alliance.
The SDVoE (Software Defined Video over Ethernet) Alliance is an organisation aimed at bringing companies together in supporting a standardised software and hardware platform for transitioning AV products to IP-based solutions. Savant have now joined the alliance as an adopting member and will demonstrate their new SDVoE-based IP Video product line at ISE 2018.
Savant’s new SDVoE-friendly switching platform delivers 4K/60 4:4:4 HDR video distribution over IP with zero-frame latency, leveraging Savant’s history in telecom to deliver advanced high-speed scalable IP entertainment, according to the company’s announcement.
New products within the line-up expected to be demonstrated at the ISE 2018 show in Amsterdam in February include the Savant IP Video 4 and 8 input video transmitters as well as Savant IP Video output receivers available with either fibre or copper as an option.
Speaking about becoming part of the SDVoE Alliance, Savant’s director of product marketing Tim McInerney revealed that early response to the new products has been strong and that the company are excited for the future:
‘Our dealer base is enthusiastic about our new IP Video solutions and early adoption has been extremely strong… We’re excited to be part of the alliance and to bring the benefits of SDVoE standards to our dealers and their clients.’
