Universal Remote Control (URC) Incorporated, a world leading innovator and manufacturer within the field of home automation, have recently announced the launch of the new MXHP-R700 remote for the company’s MX HomePro automation system.
At the same time as launching the new MXHP-R700 remote, URC also revealed that they were expanding MX HomePro system control to eight zones and were introducing a new Sonos certified two-way module.
The R700 is described by URC as a programmable Wi-Fi handheld remote, which boasts a vivid 2” LCD with custom onscreen menus. Ergonomic design is also a major feature of the new remote, which additionally includes a backlit keypad, intuitive layout and finger grooves to make it ideal for entertainment and smart home control.
To maintain charge for longer, the new remote holds a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, features an onscreen battery power indicator and comes complete with a charging cradle. After a full charge using the cradle, the remote is slated to hold its charge for between three and four days of normal use.
Speaking as the R700 was launched, URC’s vice president of product development, Lars Granoe, explained the company’s motivation in creating the new remote:
‘URC integrators and consumers wanted a more fully-featured remote control to elevate the MX HomePro user experience. Delivering on our commitment to providing best-in-class products that are backed by industry-leading support, the R700 incorporates a backlit hard button keypad and tabletop charging cradle, plus many other premium features.’
